How this role will make an impact:

PetSmart is aggressively accelerating its software capabilities and we are looking for an experienced leader who can drive us forward. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of software testing and will be main lead to develop the QA strategy and stand-up the framework for new automation. The QA lead will develop the QA processes and guidelines for the team geared towards agile engineering and automation practices, as well as, manual testing practices. The QA lead will manage the testing team, but will also roll up their sleeves and test, and will be responsible for assuring that PetSmart’s standards for quality assurance are met, will keep project and deliverables on track, and provide status reports and metrics to the Project team.

Your goals and responsibilities will include:

Expert in development and implementation of new automated testing framework, Tosca experience preferred
Develop and automate integration, functional, and system test scripts. Coach and Lead Automated Testing team.
Expert in developing test strategy, test plans, test scenarios and test procedures/test scripts (both automated and manual).
Experience with automated testing in a continuous integration environment
Delegate/Coordinate, manage and work with internal teams to deliver on QA efforts
Plan, design, craft and execute manual tests cases for solutions and services in a complex integrated environment, be an individual working contributor
Coordinate various test-related activities for project delivery: identifying task dependencies, test schedules, creation of test data, utilization of test environments, etc.
Work with product stakeholders to identify and prioritize tests that are candidates for integration, regression and automation.
Provide constructive feedback throughout the development lifecycle
Develop new test cases and enhance current test suite as new functionality is built
Manage the status of defects/enhancements in the issue tracking/change management system as well as manage defects through issue resolution for any vendor provided solutions
Collect and report data pertaining to bug detection, defect testing results and performance
Work with development and delivery teams to enhance the testability of their code, and to analyze and resolve defects in a timely matter
Provide on-site guidance and mentorship to other QA testers
Partner with IS and Business teams through testing strategy, findings, and continuous improvement

What you’ll bring to the table:

5-7 years of strong automation and manual QA Testing experience and leadership
Experience in standing up automation framework, Tosca experience preferred
Experience managing a QA or software testing team
Solid understanding of software testing practices and agile development
Solid knowledge of Point of Sale and Payment Solutions and Promotion/Offer Applications
Strong Analytical skills that helps with working independently under minimal direction
Positive attitude, team-player with strong work ethic, results minded
Team player with strong oral and written communicator with good interpersonal skills
Leadership skills to manage multiple priorities and guide other testing efforts
Experience with Jira/Confluence or similar project management platform
Understanding of Agile/Scrum frameworks is helpful
Strong customer focus and ability to clearly understand requirements and designs, offer recommendations for improvements and ability to ensure solution meets the customer needs
Passion for delivering quality software solutions, systems and services
Proven ability to work under tight deadlines and the ability to deal with ambiguity
Strong problem solving skills
Experience in testing with web, mobile application and API messaging across multiple devices.
Stress/Performance/Security testing experience is a plus
